Global Japan Studies Research Network

The main focus of our activities is the construction of the Global Japan Studies research network, and dissemination of information about Japan Studies-related research being carried out at the University of Tokyo in order to promote and strengthen collaborative relationships between overseas scholars and those working in Japan. The first step is the establishment of a website and mailing list via which information can be shared and exchanged. Of equal importance is the sharing of information across the university about the scholarly activities of visiting researchers working on Japan-related topics to facilitate productive connections between visiting academics and University of Tokyo faculty members. Supporting and promoting events such as workshops and seminars focusing on Japan-related topics is of particular importance in this respect. Ultimately we hope that this work will form the basis from which we will be able to originate a variety of programs and events in association with the new multilingual undergraduate program.
