Outline
The Japan Foundation and Centre Européen d’Etudes Japonaises d’Alsace (CEEJA) has carried out a series of seminars since 2007, with an aim to encourage networking among young researchers on Japan in Europe and further promote Japanese studies in Europe. Participants will join a two-day intensive workshop in the cozy and intimate atmosphere of CEEJA’s facility in Kientzheim where they will present and discuss their current research projects with fellow participants and guest mentors from Japan. The theme of this year’s seminar will be “Women and Men (女と男).” We are calling for applications from young researchers in Europe specializing in politics, history, sociology, literature, arts, language, philosophy, economics, architecture, religion, etc.

Mentors
Professor Mariko Adachi, at Institute of Gender Studies, Ochanomizu University, is specialized in Economy and Gender Studies.
Professor Kimio Ito, at Kyoto University, is specialized in Cultural and Political Sociology and Gender Studies.

Participants
1.Number of presenters: approximately 10 participants
2.Presentation
 (1)Each presenter is to make 20-min presentation on their research theme.
 (2)One can make a presentation that has already been presented elsewhere.
 (3)Each presentation is to be followed by the mentors’ comments and discussions in JAPANESE.
3.Papers: prior to the seminar, all participants are expected to submit their papers, in Japanese or English, which will be edited and compiled for publication after the seminar.
